Margaret Geraldine Revelle Bridgman
Margaret Geraldine Revelle Bridgman, 83, of Atlanta, passed away February 6, 2013 following an 11 year battle with Parkinson’s disease. She was born April 26, 1929 to the late Raymond Revelle and Fannie May Edwards Revelle. After graduating from Roanoke Rapids High School in 1947, Mrs. Bridgman attended the University of North Carolina. She then moved to Richmond, Virginia and married James E. Bridgman, also an Alumni Member of the graduating class of 1947 of Roanoke Rapids High School. While in Richmond, she worked for the American Tobacco Company, one of the original 12 members of the Dow Jones Industrial Average, for many years. Throughout her life, she also resided in Wilmington, NC and Nashville, TN. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and friend who always sacrificed and put others before herself. She loved life and had a fabulous sense of humor. Her fondest memories were going to Kiawah Island with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Bridgman, her sister, Edith Revelle Canipe and her brother-in-law, Hatcher Lester Canipe, Sr.
She is survived by her daughter, Kim Bridgman Seilkop, and her son-in-law, Fred Seilkop of Atlanta, Georgia; daughter, Pamela Bridgman Edwards of Houston, Texas and her four grandchildren, Caroline Seilkop and Wyatt Matthew Seilkop of Atlanta, Georgia; Jimmy Edwards and Michael Edwards of Houston, Texas.
The family extends appreciation to Deanna Hardigree, Edite Jackson and Jenola Hill for their attentive care over the years. Initial arrangements are being handled by H.M. Patterson and Son, Spring Hill in Atlanta. A memorial service will be held at Askew Funeral & Cremation Services chapel in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina on Friday, February 15, 2013 at 11 a.m. with Dr Layne Wallace officiating. Burial service immediately following at Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids.
